Requisition No. 302 E/2021
Deadline: open

(subject to third-party funding)

The focus of Prof. Prudlo's research group at the DZNE Rostock site is the investigation of cognition and behavioral disturbances of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementias (FTD) by means of neuropsychological testing procedures or questionnaires and multimodal MR tomography or FDG-PET examinations. Prof. Hermann's research group is investigating how these cognitive impairments can be diagnosed using eye-control-based PCs in patients with locked-in syndrome.

Comprehensive longitudinal data sets of ALS patients with and without frontotemporal dementia (FTD) including "wet biomarkers" and autopsy data have been and will be prospectively collected. Based on this we aim to correlate function with structure in ALS and FTD (for details see https://albrecht-kossel-institut.med.uni-rostock.de/forschung/arbeitsgruppe-kognition-bei-als).

Our requirements

The research focus of this position is on the correlation of function and structure, the study of the interaction effect of motor function and cognition with the hypothesis of reciprocal disease-modifying influence with the overall goal of finding potentially modulable resilience factors.
